On the contrary, the southern part of the city is now called the future downtown of Managua, this is where most of the investments are being made, and we will get acquainted with both areas . Among the places to visit are : “ National Historic Park Loma de Tiscapa”. In this location we will get to know an important part of the city’s history.

The colonial city known as Santiago de los Caballeros de León is the capital of the department of León, with less population than Managua (capital city of Nicaragua). León has been the nation’s intellectual focus and it is known as the University Town for its university founded in 1813. Until the designation of Managua as the capital city of Nicaragua, León rivaled Granada this position, and both cities played a leading part in the history of civil wars in the country. The architecture of the houses and buildings of León highlights for its neoclassical, gothic, baroque and colonial styles also captured in its 16 churches, and in the Insigne y Real Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, whose building began in 1747 and was prolonged for 113 years. Under its immaculate central nave is the mausoleum, where the mortal remains of the Prince of Castilian Letters, Rubén Darío, rest. After your visit to the main attractions at Leon, you will visit the “Hervideros de San Jacinto”, where you will be able to get real close and experience the heat coming up from the interior of the earth. You will also see the boiling mud at very high temperatures inside these craters and all of this is a very impressive spectacle to observe

Cerro Negro means 'Black Hill', and it is the perfect description of this truly unique volcano. The Cerro Negro volcano was formed 160 years ago and that makes it the youngest volcano of Central America.

After 90 minutes drive in your 4x4 transportation, you will arrive to the base of the volcano. The volcano is only 400 meters high, but the ascent is steep. There is no paved trail; just a merely natural path along a rim that leads to the top. The ascent will take you about one hour to the top, and although it requires some effort the superb views will certainly be rewarding. The spectacular descent through the loose rocks and sand of Cerro Negro’s black slopes will take you around 15 minutes. Your guide will then lead you to the Colonial city of Leon for lunch
